The Indian cricket team has a remarkable chance to conclude the tournament without a single defeat, having emerged victorious in all 10 of their matches thus far and lift the World Cup trophy for the third time after 1983 and 211 editions. Their latest triumph was a 70-run win over New Zealand in the semi-final at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, securing their place in the final.

Conversely, Australia narrowly beat South Africa in a tense, low-scoring match at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Thursday. They started the tournament with back-to-back defeats. However, since then, they have been in excellent form, winning eight consecutive games, including a thrilling encounter against Afghanistan in Mumbai, riding Glenn Maxwell’s double century.
