Delhi Capitals on Tuesday notched up a convincing victory against Lucknow Super Giants at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. However, the victory did little to bolster DC’s chances of making it to the playoffs. DC Assistant coach Pravin Amre after the match decided to count the positives of the season.
LSG won the toss on Tuesday and put DC to bat first. DC got off to a flier, thanks to Abhishek Porel’s 58 and Shai Hope’s 38. Tristan Stubbs produced a late onslaught to help DC reach 208. Chasing 209, LSG kept losing wickets and fell 19 runs short in the end.
‘Ending season on a positive note’
DC assistant coach Pravin Amre heaped praises on his players after the match.
“There are many positives from this season. We found some amazing players in the form of Jake Fraser McGurk, Tristan Stubbs, Abhishek Porel and Rashikh Salam. I’ve been with this franchise for 9 years but this year is special because we won so many games at home. The crowd at our home was also fantastic, cheering for us all the way. Going forward, we really hope to make the home our fortress,” he said.

Missed key players: Amre
He also highlighted the problems DC faced throughout the tournament with injuries and suspensions.
“We missed quite a few key players. We had to let go of several of our players, Harry Brooks missed the tournament, then Warner got injured in between. These are the things we had to deal with the whole season. But the back-ups delivered for us. We also missed Rishabh Pant the last game, which was an important match. But those are part and parcel of the game,” he said.
