GT’s Chepauk challenge feat new captain Gill

GT got off to an impressive start in IPL 2024, defeating their former skipper Hardik Pandya-led MI in their first match. Undoubtedly, batting will be the side’s strong suit heading into the game against CSK. The side has a fine balance in terms of spin and pace – both of which can come to use for the side in Chepauk.

A great start with the bat from openers Saha and Gill will put the team in a commanding position, provided both go all guns blazing. Sai Kishore provided a glimpse of his abilities with the bat in the game against MI, making his case for the perfect number three batter. A heavy middle-order that comprises of the likes of Omarzai, Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan adds more firepower to the side with the bat.

GT’s bowling unit put up a commendable performance against MI, with most bowlers adding two wickets to their names. One thing for sure, is that the side doesn’t have any lack of options when it comes to bowling and variety. The experience of Mohit Sharma and local boy Sai Kishore will come of valuable use to GT as they head to Chepauk.
