The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be ready to defend their Indian Premier League title. With hopes of winning the trophy for a record sixth time, MS Dhoni and Co have released their star all-rounder Ben Stokes alongside other players including Pretorious, Ambati Rayadu and co. CSK’s main target has been to release their injured players and invest in youth who can serve the Yellow Army in the coming years.

Ben Stokes, Dwayne Pretorious, Ambati Rayadu, Kyle Jamieson, Magala, Senapati, Bhagath and Akash are released by CSK ahead of IPL 2024 auction. Chennai Super Kings have released 8 players in total, and have 6 overall slots remaining in which 3 have been reserved for overseas players.

The biggest loss for Chennai Super Kings will be star all-rounder Ben Stokes. The English players have opted out of IPL 2024 citing workload management and fitness. It is understood that Stokes will go under the knife for his injured knee and will need time to recover from the same.

The Yellow Army acquired the star player back in IPL 2023 for a staggering sum of 16.25 Crores and now is set to invest in more players, with Rs 32.2 cr left in their purse.
