There may be a massive interest on social media for IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 clash, but in Kandy, Sri Lanka, there is a visible lack of enthusiasm. 24 hours left for the match and there are still plenty of tickets left. So lacklustre is the demand for India vs Pakistan match tickets that Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is offering discounted tickets for combo packages. In contrast, IND vs PAK cricket match tickets sell like hotcakes all over the globe.
To note, IND vs PAK Group A tickets start from $30 or LKR 9,661 and go up to LKR 96,607. But now with a lukewarm response, SLC are offering IND vs PAK and IND vs NEP for LKR 2,560 or $7.95 with the hopes of avoiding empty seats. SLC has also reduced the ticket price for India vs Pakistan match to $4.66 (LKR 1500).
“The tickets are very expensive, to say the least. Paying almost Rs 10K (LKR) for Grass Bank is a waste of money as it does not offer a great viewing experience with hardly any facility. Then, with the chance of rain, it makes little sense. They should have set a moderate price for tickets for people to come like they have done in Pakistan,” Prasanna, one of the local fans in Kandy told InsideSport.
However, not all sections of the stadium will be empty. Pallekele International Stadium has managed to sell out Level A Stadium worth $300. But for the rest of the stadium, it could offer a deserted look.
It must be noted that, along with Sri Lanka Cricket, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are in charge of setting ticket prices.
At Pallekele, grass bank tickets usually cost LKR 250 ($0.78). However, SLC’s move to jack up the price for IND vs PAK mega clash has gone haywire. Even in Pakistan, tickets were priced moderately, starting at $2.66.

The situation does not help with the weather around. There is a high chance of rain on Saturday and that could spoil the party.
The situation is worse for IND vs NEP match on Sep 4. In the 35,000-capacity stadium, there are still about 18,000 tickets left for the general public.
