Chennai Rhinos started on a low after losing three quick wickets in succession. However, Vikranth led the redemption for them with his 11th half-century in this tournament. His 3 boundaries and 3 sixes helped the Rhinos to set up a target of 93 runs.
Punjab de Sher however failed to make the best use of their innings, performances from Bharath and Dasarathan made sure they were restricted to 80-6 in 10 overs. Chennai started their second innings with a lead of 12 runs.
