England batter Ollie Pope on Saturday was ruthlessly dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah on the second day of the IND vs ENG Test. Bumrah produced arguably the ball of the match which knocked Ollie Pope’s stumps. Cricket lovers took to social media soon after the dismissal to hail the Indian pacer.
Pope looked good in the middle since coming on and looked destined to go on to play a big innings. However, Bumrah had other plans. The Indian pacer produced a peach of a delivery to knock Pope off. Bumrah’s toe-crusher gave Pope no chance as the batter failed to defend the ball.
The yorker went between Pope’s bat and pad and knocked three stumps off. Pope looked frustrated with the dismissal, but there was nothing much he could do as the ball was what is referred to as an ‘unplayable delivery’.
Social media was abuzz with the dismissal, with cricket lovers taking their turn to praise Bumrah. A social user wrote, “Ollie Pope might be England’s best batsman. But not for Boom Boom BUMRAH.” Another social user said, “Boom Boom Bumrah! What an Yorker! THIS. IS. CINEMA!”
