BCCI clears stance on India visiting Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025, leaves no room for debate

The last time Team India travelled to Pakistan, was in 2008, and since then have refused to maintain bilateral ties with the neighbours.

The Champions Trophy 2025 might be a year away, but it seems that the PCB is already making grand plans for the tournament. After all, an ICC event is returning to Pakistan after 1996, so the excitement is of course expected. The board has in fact, gone on to reveal the venue for the India vs Pakistan clash. For now, the PCB has proposed Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore as the venue for the high-profile clash.

But it seems like, the BCCI is in no mood to relent. As per a latest statement by board’s vice-president Rajeev Shukla, it is still early days, and Indian cricket team will travel to Pakistan, when the government gives its nod. Talking to ANI, Shukla said, “In the case of the Champion Trophy, we will do whatever the Government of India will tell us to do. We send our team only when the Government of India gives us permission. So we will go according to the decision of the Indian government.”
