As Abhishek Sharma & Travis Head toy with LSG bowlers, here’s full list of records they broke

In IPL 2024, Abhishek Sharma has scored 401 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 205, while Travis Head has scored 533 runs at a strike rate of 201.

On Wednesday, the Hyderabad crowd witnessed some exceptional hitting by SRH’s opening combination of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, as the duo took their team past the finish line vs LSG in only 9.4 overs. All this while chasing a decent total of 166. What was even more surprising is that the duo remained unbeaten till the end, striking it big, at will.

While Travis Head managed to score 89 from 30 at a strike rate of 296, Abhishek scored 75 from 28 at a strike rate of 267. That was enough to take the team to the third spot in the IPL points table, with seven wins. Interestingly, SRH’s NRR also improved considerably in the match vs LSG. Prior to the match, it stood at -0.065, and after the carnage, it is at +0.406. But there are a few more records that were broken on the way.

Abhishek Sharma & Travis Head Break Records Galore

Head has been going great guns this IPL 2024. He now has the most sub 20-ball fifties in the tournament, along with fellow-Aussie Jake Fraser-McGurk. The next on the list is Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard and Ishan Kishan — two each. Not just that, Head also has the second-most scores of fifties inside the powerplay now — 4 — only surpassed by David Warner (6).

Coming to Abhishek, he has the most number of sixes in IPL 2024 — 35. The next on the list is Narine at 32. That also make Sunrisers Hyderabad the team with most sixes in any year — 146. Before this, CSK held the record at 145, that they made in 2018.

All Records Held by SRH in IPL 2024

That’s not it. The highest-ever score in IPL, after 10 overs now also is under SRH’s name. 167 in 9.4 overs beats the previous record SRH held, that was made in the match vs DC. In that match, the Men in Orange scored 158/4 in 10 overs. Also, in terms of most balls spared while chasing — this record too stands broken. In the SRH vs LSG match, the target was achieved with 62 deliveries to spare, while the next best record is in the name of DC against Punjab Kings in 2022 (57 balls to spare).
