5 foreigners to watch out for in IPL 2025 Mega Auction

The IPL 2025 Mega Auction is slated to take place Jeddah on 24-25th November

Foreign players have been in high demand in the Indian Premier League. And IPL 2025 is going to be no exception. As the mega auction draws near, the excitement continues to rise as teams finalize their plans. Quite a few stars were left out and released by all sides on IPL Retention Day. Here we take a look at 5 overseas players who will be sought out the most in the mega auction.

Jake Fraser-McGurk

Australian power hitter Jake Fraser-McGurk needs no introduction from anyone. Back in IPL 2024 he lighted up the stage with his pinch-hitting knocks for Delhi Capitals. He amassed 330 runs for DC with an astonishing strike rate of 234. With the Capitals having released him for the auction, every team will be desperate to bring the Aussie youngster into their roster.

Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc stole the headlines after KKR bought him in the IPL 2024 auction for a whopping sum of 24.75 crores. This made the Australian speedster the highest-priced player in the history of the league. But, Starc wasn’t up to the mark in terms of his high price.

He went on to scalp 17 wickets in 14 matches and eventually helped Kolkata Knight Riders win the league with dual strikes in the finals. While KKR might have released him for the mega auction, teams will be eager to swoop on the veteran pacer at the very first opportunity that they can get.

Marcus Stoinis

Talk about versatility and impact – that is what you can get and expect from Marcus Stoinis. But the Australian all-rounder was not retained and now finds himself in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. His ability to control the game be it with his power hitting for his fast-paced deliveries, Stonis can gel well easily in any team, making him a highly sought player for the upcoming auction.

Devin Conway

The Kiwi star Devon Conway needs no introduction. He lighted up IPL 2024 for Chennai Super Kings with an average of 51.7 as he went on to amass 672 runs. Not just a powerful and reliable opener, but his wicketkeeping abilities make him a vital asset for any side.

Furthermore, Devon Conway reminded everyone in the recently concluded IND vs NZ Test series, that CSK might have played a huge gamble by not retaining him. Every other team will be ready to outmatch the other to get their hands on the Kiwi star.

Jos Buttler

Rajasthan Royals surprised everyone when they didn’t retain Jos Buttler on IPL 2025 Retention Day. But the Englishman will be high on demand in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Teams will be ready to spill their cash on the ace opener who knows how to take on the opposition bowlers given any circumstances.
