Devon Conway commenced his cricketing journey in South African domestic cricket before relocating to New Zealand in August 2017 to pursue his career further. He earned a contract with Wellington for the 2018–19 season and made a significant impact, including scoring an unbeaten double century and finishing as the leading run-scorer in both the Super Smash and Plunket Shield seasons. In November 2020, Devon Conway earned a spot in the New Zealand A cricket team for practice matches against the West Indies, swiftly followed by his inclusion in New Zealand’s T20I squad for the series against the same opponent. Making his T20I debut on November 27, 2020, Conway showcased his talent. He then transitioned to the Test squad in December 2020, covering for BJ Watling’s injury. Conway continued his impressive run, earning a place in New Zealand’s ODI squad in March 2021, marking his ODI debut with a century against Bangladesh later that month. In April 2021, he was selected for New Zealand’s Test squad against England and the ICC World Test Championship final, making his Test debut in June 2021.
