Divya Kakran faces 4-year doping ban as Indian wrestling faces another setback: Report

Divya Kakran had missed the Senior Nationals this month due to the same reason, and will miss the Paris Games, if proven guilty.

Asian Games and CWG medalist wrestler Divya Kakran seems to have landed in trouble, and could be banned for doping, for upto four years. As per a report in Amar Ujala, she has tested positive for a substance called methyl testosterone. In response, she has been provisionally been suspended by NADA, and upon failing to prove innocence, she’ll be ousted for a long time.

The report further says that her samples were collected in an out of competition testing, on December 15 last year, from her house in UP. The provisional suspension came on January 10, and that is why, Divya could not participate at the Senior Wrestling nationals. The report also says that her B samples have also been collected.
