The Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2025 sees last-minute team reshuffles as visa issues prompt GodLike and S8UL to merge, with Animus and OUG filling vacant slots.

The Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2025 is facing unexpected team roster changes just days before the main event, as several top contenders grappled with last-minute visa complications. This unexpected Visa issues results S8UL and Godlike to shut down its CODM operation after COD Mobile World Championship 2025.

GodLike and S8UL Merge to Form Newgen Ninjas for COD Mobile World Championship 2025

Indian powerhouses GodLike and S8UL, both of whom qualified for the championship, were unable to secure visas for all their players. Rather than withdrawing, the two organizations decided to combine their visa-approved athletes under a new banner—Newgen Ninjas—giving India a strong presence at this year’s world finals despite the setbacks.

Animus and OUG Step Up

The merging of GodLike and S8UL left a tournament slot vacant. Animus, the next highest seed from Europe, was quickly selected to fill the gap, ensuring competitive balance and representation for the region. In Asia, Stand Point Gaming also missed out on a visa appointment and has been replaced by OUG, the fifth seed from China. Notably, XRock—the other eligible replacement—declined the invitation.

Organizers Respond to Challenges

Activision and the tournament committee worked closely with affected teams and embassies to expedite the visa process. Despite their efforts, some players and teams simply couldn’t obtain the necessary paperwork in time for travel. The organizers emphasized that these last-minute changes were beyond their control but necessary to ensure a full and competitive roster for the event.

With these emergency modifications, the COD Mobile World Championship 2025 will now feature a reshuffled set of teams, including newly merged squads and alternate seed selections. Fans can expect plenty of high-level action as the best players from around the world fight for the prestigious trophy despite the hurdles.
