Bellator 288: Usman Nurmagomedov vs Patricky “Pitbull” Freire: Easy win
Usman Numagomedov had a commanding performance and won by unanimous decision. In addition to failing to land enough combinations to frighten the Dagestani, Freire could not respond to his wrestling. The judges’ scorecards, which all gave him a 50-45 victory, demonstrated his superiority.

Khabib’ Nurmagomedov’s longtime teammate Islam Makhachev won the UFC lightweight championship last month at UFC 280 by submitting Charles Oliveira in the first round while having Khabib coaching him. Although Khabib wasn’t in Usman’s corner on Saturday night, his manager Ali Abdelaziz and another cousin who fights in the UFC, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, helped him appear through a video call during Usman’s post fight interview. Khabib’s proteges are current lightweight champions in significant promotions, demonstrating that he is still thriving even after retiring.
