Barcelona Transfer Ban: Financial problems for the Spanish Club Barcelona don’t seem to end very soon. As per latest reports, La Liga President, Javier Tebas confirmed that the Catalan club is in no position to sign new players next season. Tebas also mentioned that Barcelona will have a budget of minus £177m (€200m) for the next season. This means, in order to sign new players, Barca will have to cut players’ wages and release some of them. Follow Football LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN

In the summer of 2022, Barcelona made some huge signings to strengthen their squad. Camp Nou saw the arrival of Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Raphinha, Marcos Alonso, Andreas Christensen, and Franck Kessié after big spending. Moreover, the club struggled to register some of them, and at last, some existing players like Gerard Pique and Frenkie de Jong had to take a pay cut in order to help the team register the players.

Barca also sold TV rights worth £620m (€700m), and some stake of the club in order to find solutions to the financial issues. However, this won’t be the case next season as per Javier Tebas. Furthermore, the only way to sign new players is to sell some of the players as “for every amount they raise in sales, they can spend 40 percent of that,” revealed Tebas.

However, as per Barca’s President, Joan Laporta, the now Atletico Madrid player Antoine Griezmann, and retired Gerard Pique’s wage bill will help the club to save around €90million (£80m) in the upcoming season.

But even if Barca manages to save the amount Lapota mentioned, they’ll still be around £97 short in order to sign the players. It’ll be interesting to know how Barcelona’s management will solve this issue because reinforcement at Camp Nou looks like a must. With Sergio Busquets set to leave the club, the midfield will need some signings. As earlier, the over-dependence on Gavi and Pedri caused Barcelona 3 points in La Liga against Almeria and were also handed a defeat by Manchester United in Europa League.
