The player suffered the injury in Barcelona’s last La Liga match against Almeria which they finished with a 1-0 loss. This put their point difference with second place Real Madrid at 7 points. The point gap could’ve been less, but Real Madrid couldn’t beat 10-man Atletico Madrid in the same game week and finished with a 1-1 draw.

However, the injury puts Barcelona in the back seat as Lewandowski is set to miss the next few important matches. As he’s suffered a left hamstring strain, he’s said to be out for two weeks. He will miss Barcelona’s league matches against Valencia and Athletic Club. He is also set to miss the coming Copa Del Rey semi-finals first leg match against Real Madrid at Santiago Barnebeu stadium.
Barcelona will face Madrid two more times in the next few weeks, in the second leg of the Copa Del Rey semi-finals and in the Spanish league. Even though Lewandowski is expected to be back before the second leg, the club has not given any information out. They have only put out a social media post where it read, “He is out and his recovery will determine his availability.”

Madrid won their last league meeting 3-1 in October, while Barcelona beat its rival by the same score in the Spanish Super Cup final in January. Not only the semi-final match, but if Barcelona lose points against Valencia and Athletic Club, they might lose the hope to win La Liga.
Lewandowski is the league’s leading scorer with 15 goals. However, he has not been in the same form after coming back from the World Cup. He has only scored two goals in the last three games in all competitions.
