India cricket team’s winless streak continued as they were handed a 9-wicket thrashing by England in the ENG vs IND 4th T20I, allowing the hosts to complete a 4-0 series win. Captain Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 80-run knock went in vain as Harry Brook and Phil Salt chased down the target with ease. Meanwhile, the focus will next shift to the ODIs and former India captain Rohit Sharma is taking part in full-fledged sessions in London to gear up for the series. DRS 1

India handed 9-wicket thrashing in 4th T20I

After a 125-run win in Nottingham, England blew India away by 9 wickets in Bristol to seal the 5-match T20I series 3-0. This was England’s maiden T20I series (except one-off matches) win over India at home or away. Harry Brook smashed an unbeaten 79-run knock off 35 balls, while Phil Salt scored 42-ball 59 to chase the 159-run target in just 13.5 overs. Shreyas Iyer’s lone warrior knock

Iyer’s innings in Bristol was the one thing that kept India in the fight. He walked in with India wobbling, and on a tricky English surface, Shreyas looked like he was playing a different game. The Indian T20I captain scored 80 runs off 49 deliveries, striking 4 fours and five sixes. Meanwhile, the rest of the Indian team combined scored just 71 runs. Iyer’s innings in Bristol was the one thing that kept India in the fight. Varun Chakravarthy, Harshit Rana injured

The ongoing T20I series between India and England has gone from bad to worse for the visitors. The Indian cricket team has lost both Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy due to hamstring injuries. They won’t take part further in the series. Rana played as a second pacer alongside Arshdeep Singh and is perfect for a number-eight batter. Chakaravarthy, meanwhile, is number one in terms of specialist spinner. Read more here.

No Sanju Samson in KCL auction

Sanju Samson has denied to be part of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) auction. Earlier, he was released by his franchise Kochi Blue Tigers. Now, he isn’t part of the auction list that has 156 players, who will go under the hammer on July 11 in Trivandrum. He was the most expensive player as he was bought for Rs 26.80 lakh last season, which is more than half of the auction purse of only Rs 50 lakh. By releasing him, Kochi freed up more than 50 per cent of their budget. Read more here.

Rohit Sharma begins prep for ODIs

Rohit Sharma checked into London way ahead of the ENG vs IND ODI series and has already taken part in a couple of full-fledged sessions in and around London. The report states that the Hitman sweated it out at these clubs with his close friends and local club bowlers. Rohit’s decision to take part in the sessions ahead of the ODI series was a part of his plan to acclimatise to the conditions. Ben Stokes takes savage dig at ICC

 Ben Stokes has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding his decision to announce his retirement mid-way through the ENG vs NZ 3rd Test. Reports claimed that the ICC had sent a letter to the ECB, informing the board that the players’ and match officials’ areas (PMOA) rules had been breached. The former England skipper penned a two-word response, “Sack him’, a seemingly savage dig aimed at the ICC and the ECB. Read more here.
