India cricket team touched a new low on Tuesday after being handed a 125-run thrashing by England in the ENG vs IND 3rd T20I in Nottingham. Shreyas Iyer-led Men in Blue were bowled out for just 76 runs in the run-chase, allowing the hosts to take a 2-0 lead in the series. In other news, VVS Laxman is all set to take over the reins from Gautam Gambhir as head coach for the tours to ZIM and Asian Games. The venues for the Asia Cup 2027 have been confirmed. DRS 1

India handed 125-run thrashing

England were all over India, like a rash, at Trent Bridge. For the first time in T20I cricket, the Men in Blue have lost 5 wickets in the powerplay. Chasing 202, India started well but kept on losing wickets from the second over onwards. They were all out of batters by the end of the 9th over. No batter in the top seven even managed to cross the 15-run mark. In the end, India were all out for 76 runs, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi being the highest scorer at 13. Read more here.

Asia Cup 2027 venues confirmed

The BCB has confirmed the venues for the Men’s Asia Cup 2027. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is considering awarding the hosting rights of the 50-over event to Bangladesh, who were last granted the rights for an ACC tournament in 2016. BCB security committee chairman Sayeed Ibrahim Ahmed has revealed the venues as Mirpur, Sylhet and Chattogram. Read more here.

VVS Laxman to take over as head coach

 VVS Laxman will serve as India cricket team‘s head coach for the series against Zimbabwe and the Asian Games 2026. This development comes a day after the BCCI unveiled the squad for the three-match series against ZIM which begins later this month. As per reports, Laxman will take over the reins from Gautam Gambhir for the abovementioned assignments, and will be assisted by a couple of other new faces as well. Read more here.

Sanju Samson not ‘dropped’

BCCI has addressed the clamour over the exclusion of Sanju Samson from the squad for Zimbabwe T20Is and has clarified that he has been rested. and not dropped. A source claimed that Sanju Samson wouldn’t have played in Zimbabwe and hence, there was no point of including him in the squad for the series. The source pointed out that the Keralam keeper-batter was a senior player who was a part of the Asian Games 2026 squad and that he was simply rested in order to give youngsters a chance in the Zimbabwe series. Sai Kishore wants to leave GT

 Spinner Sai Kishore has expressed his desire to leave Gujarat Titans, as per reports. The Tamil Nadu star wishes to move to another franchise, due to lack of game time at the Titans. For the record, the left-arm spinner played only three matches in IPL 2026, bowled in only two, and picked up just one wicket. Barring only the 2025 edition, he has never played over 5 matches in the season. Read more here.

SKY rubbishes fake quote

Suryakumar Yadav clarified that he whole heartedly supports the Indian team led by Shreyas Iyer and has dubbed quotes citing him earlier as false. The T20 World Cup 2026-winning captain’s remarks comes after reports had earlier claimed that the star batter felt disrespected after being replaced as the T20I captain, after being reportedly told by the selectors that he would continue as captain.
