Counter-Strike Star s1mple Receives One-Year Ban from Ukrainian Esports Federation
Counter-Strike legend s1mple receives a one-year UESF ban but remains eligible to compete in international CS2 tournaments.

The legendary player of Counter Strike, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, has been banned for one year by the Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF). This ban indicates that the famous Ukrainian player is not going to compete in any tournaments conducted or sponsored by UESF till June 30, 2027.

The suspension has sparked debate across the Counter-Strike community, with many fans discussing its impact on one of the game’s greatest players.

Why Did S1mple Recieve One Year Ban? Here is Details

It has been reported that the UESF banned s1mple when he chose to play along with Russian pro Denis “electroNic” Sharipov. The Federation apparently wanted Ukrainian players to refrain from playing alongside Russian nationals.

This punishment was not restricted only to s1mple. In fact, two more Ukrainian players, namely Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia and Danylo “s1zzi” Vinnyk were banned owing to their associations with the Russian team called Team Spirit.

s1mple is widely considered one of the greatest Counter-Strike players in history. Throughout his career, he has won some of the biggest trophies in esports, including the Intel Grand Slam, a Major championship, and IEM Cologne.

Shortly after the statement, s1mple responded to it in the social media. The Counter-Strike player criticized the Ukrainian Esports Federation for using one measure for some people and another for others.

Moreover, s1mple asked how much the Ukrainian Esports Federation knew about esports, pointing out that it did almost nothing for the development of the industry.

Though banned, the career of s1mple internationally is not affected since this ban affects the competitions organized by the Ukrainian Esports Federation only.

Hence, he can still take part in the biggest competitions of the game, such as international LAN competitions and future Counter-Strike 2 Majors.
