New Genshin Impact leaks suggest a major story arc beginning in 2027 with Khaenri'ah, playable Dainsleif, and possible engine upgrades.

A fresh wave of leaks has sparked excitement across the Genshin Impact community, with insiders claiming HoYoverse is preparing a major new chapter for the popular action RPG. While some fans have dubbed the rumored project “Genshin 2,” reports suggest it will not be a separate game.

It will be an evolution of the already existing Genshin Impact with a new story and additional territories to explore.

Genshin 2 Reportedly Set for 2027

As per the leaks obtained from known leakers kasssperskaya and Team Mew, the next storyline will kick off after the completion of the Snezhnaya chapter.

According to the leaks, one of the most mysterious and vital regions in Genshin Impact lore, Khaenri’ah, will be an unlocked location that can be played in the game. It is alleged that this highly anticipated location will be released sometime in 2027.

For many years, players have wondered whether they could explore the fallen nation. This one of the most exciting claims in the latest leak.

Dainsleif Could Finally Become Playable

Another important piece of information that came through the leak is about the character known as Dainsleif.

It is well-known that the traveler had always been an integral part of the storyline of Genshin Impact ever since its beginning but never got an opportunity to become a playable character in the game. However, according to the latest news coming out of rumors, Dainsleif will soon be joining the storyline era.

This has created quite an excitement among the fans.

Engine Upgrade Claims Face Skepticism

The most shocking piece of information from the leak is the fact that the whole game is going to be switched to an entirely new engine. This is mainly to support this next generation of content. However, this particular piece of information received considerable backlash. Another community leaker by the name of HXG has claimed that the information about the leaks of Genshin 2 is “not fully correct”.

Replacing the game’s engine entirely has been deemed to be very unlikely by many people within the community and industry professionals as well. Since the game is built using Unity, which has been modified significantly for its use, it would require a huge amount of work and disruption to fully replace the game’s engine.

As with all leaks, none of the information has been officially confirmed by HoYoverse. Development plans can change significantly over time, especially for projects that may still be years away from release.
