Esports and gaming engagement startup Metaninza has strategically restructured its business with the launch of 16Arena Labs Private Limited (formerly Metaninza Gaming Private Limited) – a technology-first entity building scalable infrastructure for competitive and casual gaming.
As part of this strategic evolution, Metaninza Esports will continue to operate its core esports brand owning and operating competitive esports rosters under various titles; while on the other hand, 16Arena Labs will be functioning as a dedicated gaming-tech and sports-tech company driving product innovation, platform development, and building multiple useful, tech-led solutions for the broader gaming and esports ecosystem.
Metaninza Launches 16Arena Labs
Over the past year, Metaninza has built capabilities across esports and platform development. As both sides of the business evolved, the imperative for a more focused structure was felt – one that allows each vertical to scale independently while contributing to a larger, interconnected ecosystem. In line with this realization, the company’s latest restructuring has been planned, allowing them to sharpen focus and to accelerate growth and execution across both segments.
Going ahead, Metaninza Esports shall focus on talent development and enabling India’s grassroots esports ecosystem, alongside creator and influencer management in esports; whereas 16Arena Labs will dedicatedly focus on building a robust underlying infrastructure layer or the “operating system” for the gaming industry, offering quality gaming experiences and full-stack esports-tech solutions, while leveraging community-first architecture and data and AI-driven personalization and optimization.

Even as the gaming and esports market in India continues to rise in popularity year-on-year, the ecosystem remains highly fragmented and inefficient with the use of disconnected tools and manual processes, and operating in silos. 16Arena Labs is attempting to bridge the gaps by creating a one-stop tech-enabled experience which brings together gameplay, data, tournament management, community engagement, and more – all under one roof.
The 16Arena ecosystem has been envisioned as a superlative suite of products and services encompassing all key layers of the esports value chain, including:
- 16Arena: A gaming and esports engagement platform
- 16Score: A real-time esports data and scoring platform
- 16TMS: An end-to-end tournament management system
- 16SportsTech: A grassroots-focused sports-tech solutions and community education provider
- 16IP Solutions: To develop intellectual properties in esports
- 16Studio & Production: Offering end-to-end content creation, production and broadcast services
Together, these products/brand verticals shall provide a unified and integrated platform for players, organizers, creators, and brands to co-engage at scale and thrive. As a full-stack sports-tech provider, the company would not only be offering a Direct-to-Customer (end-user-centric) platform, but also catering to the larger industry through its cutting-edge PAAS (Platform-As-A-Service), SAAS (Software-As-A-Service) and digital solutions.
Sudhansu Sinha, Founder & CEO, Metaninza commented, “With Metaninza’s strategic restructuring, we have separated our esports operations from our technology and product stack with the aim to enable deeper innovation, scalability and greater ecosystem-wide impact. We are now thrilled to introduce 16Arena Labs, wherein we would be building the tech and infrastructure backbone of tomorrow that enables the entire ecosystem – from players and organizers to brands, publishers and other key stakeholders to participate easily and meaningfully, and scale efficiently. Our transition from being a platform and esports ecosystem builder to a product-first scalable gaming destination has been intentionally designed to serve millions of users and stakeholders across casual, competitive, and community-driven gaming.”
“Through 16Arena Labs’ multi-layered approach, we are attempting to curate a connected gaming economy and a reliable ecosystem powered by technology where players compete and make progress, fans follow real-time match data, organizers run tournaments efficiently, and brands engage purposefully with gaming communities – without needing to move or switch between different platforms. 16Arena Labs and Metaninza together represent our unwavering commitment and vision to build a sustainable, inclusive and rewarding gaming and esports ecosystem,” added Sudhansu Sinha.
As a part of the new structure, the company has also recently introduced the 16Arena app – a consumer-facing platform designed to drive daily gaming participation and community engagement. The new 16Arena platform – a revamped version of the Metaninza’s flagship app – offers enhanced user experience focused on speed, simplicity, and engagement; structured reward loops (quests, offerwalls, coins etc.); a stronger community layer with teams, chats, and creator integration; scalable architecture for multi-game and multi-region expansion; and integrated gaming commerce.
While most traditional platforms run one-off tournaments, the 16Arena app is, on the contrary, built around the idea of continuous engagement, enabling structured competitions and engagement to aid repeat participation. The app is currently live on Android, and its iOS and web versions are expected to be rolled out soon. All existing users of the Metaninza app shall be seamlessly transitioned to the new platform with their user history and progress intact.
16Arena Labs will, in the near future, focus on the Indian market, while building partnerships with domestic brands, publishers, and esports teams, and launching numerous IP-led tournaments and leagues. They are primarily targeting gamers from Gen Z and millennial generations, along with companies looking to actively engage and operate in the esports and gaming segment.
Furthermore, with an integrated ecosystem-oriented approach, the company would be parallelly serving casual players, aspiring esports athletes, and gaming creators. After consolidating India presence, 16Arena plans to expand across Southeast Asia for its next phase of growth. In the long run, 16Arena Labs aims to position itself as a category-defining esports-tech brand.
