Vaughan claimed that England had a better spin attack than India and backed Brook and co. to get the job done easily.

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan believes that the Three Lions will beat India cricket team in the T20 World Cup semi-final on Thursday. Harry Brook and co. have been a formidable side in the ongoing tournament, with all departments functioning in perfect sync. Ahead of the clash in Mumbai, Vaughan claimed that England had a better spin attack than India and backed Brook and co. to get the job done easily.

‘England has a better spin attack’

Speaking to the BBC, Vaughan claimed that Adil Rashid, Liam Dawson and Will Jacks have been the best spin trio thus far in the T20 Word Cup. He heaped praise on England’s performance so far in the tournament across departments and opined that they culd beat India in Mumbai.

“England have a better spin attack than India. (Varun) Chakravarthy has been got at. Dawson, (Adil) Rashid, and Will Jacks have been the best trio in the tournament in terms of spin. England’s fielding has been absolutely exceptional. They look really alert. England’s running between the wickets has been exceptional. The small percentage things you can control yourself, England seem to be doing very well. I just have a funny feeling England can get the job done in Mumbai,” Vaughan said.

For the record, Chakravarthy has 12 wickets to his name in the T20 World Cup – the most for any spinner and averages 15.33 with an economy rate of 7.66. Dawson, on the other hand, has 10 wickets to his name with an economy rate of 7.30. Varun has been India’s go-to spinner in the ongoing tournament and has managed to keep Kuldeep Yadav out of the playing XI. India will surely play Varun in the T20 World Cup semi-final against Mumbai and he spearhead the spin unit along with Axar.
