The Indian esports scene just received a massive jolt of adrenaline. After years of navigating the complex landscape of game bans and regional restrictions, India is officially set to debut in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2026.

This news, first teased by prominent Indian caster KRONOS, marks a pivotal shift for the region. But the real headline isn’t just that India is participating—it’s the unprecedented allocation of two slots: one for the Main Stage and one for the Wild Card.

India To Get Two Slots At MLBB MSC 2026 (EWC 2026)

One of the most intriguing aspects of this announcement is the distribution of slots. Traditionally, new regions have to fight through a grueling Wild Card phase to see even a glimpse of the Main Stage. India, however, is reportedly receiving:

  • 1 Main Stage Slot: Direct entry into the group stages.
  • 1 Wild Card Slot: A second team will have the chance to qualify through the play-ins.

This mirrors the strategy used for China, where two slots were granted because they technically play a localized version of the game. For India, the game is often referred to under different monikers like Moba Legends or specific localized APK versions to comply with regional regulations. By granting two slots, Moonton is effectively acknowledging India as a “powerhouse-in-waiting,” similar to how they integrated the Chinese server into the global ecosystem.

NOTE – These two slots confirmation teased by KRONOS. There is no official confirmation from Moonton Games Yet.

Why MSC 2026?

The Mid Season Cup 2026 is part of the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With a staggering prize pool (the 2025 edition saw $3,000,000 for MLBB alone), it is the most prestigious mid-year tournament in mobile gaming.

For Indian fans, this is more than just a tournament; it’s a comeback. Since the 2020 ban of the original app, the community has remained active via third-party versions and scrimmages. This official slot allocation suggests that a “legal” and localized version of MLBB is likely fully stabilized for the Indian market, allowing professional teams to compete under the national flag once again.

What This Means for Indian Teams

The “1 Main + 1 WC” format means we could see a classic rivalry within the country to decide who gets the direct ticket.

  • National Qualifiers: Expect a massive domestic tournament to decide the two representatives.
  • Roster Stability: Organizations like S8UL, GodLike, or even newer entrants are expected to scout or re-sign veteran MLBB talent who have been playing “underground” or in other titles.

What’s Next?

As we move closer to the summer of 2026, keep an eye out for official announcements regarding the Indian National Qualifiers. With the EWC’s “Club Program” offering millions in support, we might see major Indian organizations officially entering the MLBB fray very soon.
