BGMI 144 FPS and 165 FPS Coming Soon? Know More
Generated via AI
Leaks suggest BGMI is testing 144 FPS and 165 FPS support through a new Ultra-Extreme+ graphics setting. With high-refresh-rate smartphones becoming common, Krafton may roll out higher frame caps in upcoming updates.

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has always pushed the boundaries of mobile performance, and the community is currently buzzing with leaks regarding the next major jump in frame rates. While 120 FPS has recently become the gold standard for flagship devices, new rumors and in-game screenshots suggest that 144 FPS and 165 FPS support might be just around the corner.

BGMI 144 FPS and 165 FPS Support Leaks Explained

According to multiple community sources and data mined from beta builds, developers are testing a new graphics preset tentatively labeled “Ultra-Extreme+” or “Super-Fluid.” This setting reportedly goes beyond the current Ultra-Extreme (120 FPS) mode, aiming to take advantage of the growing number of smartphones equipped with 144Hz and 165Hz refresh rate displays.

Devices like the upcoming iQOO 15, OnePlus 15, and other gaming-focused phones are expected to support these higher refresh rates natively.

While the 120 FPS update (Ultra-Extreme) was a game-changer for competitive players, 144 FPS would offer even lower input latency and smoother tracking during intense close-range combat. According to community insiders, we might see a phased rollout:

  • 144 FPS Support: Expected within the next two to four months, likely coinciding with the version 4.3 or 4.4 update.
  • 165 FPS Support: Potentially further out, possibly arriving in six months as a specialized feature for premium gaming-tier devices.

However, display refresh rate alone won’t be enough. To run BGMI at 144 FPS or 165 FPS, players will likely need next-generation chipsets such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 5) or MediaTek Dimensity 9400, along with advanced cooling systems. Thermal stability remains the biggest challenge, as sustained ultra-high frame rates can cause overheating and performance throttling.

For now, neither Krafton nor Tencent has officially confirmed these upgrades. Still, with global versions like Game for Peace already experimenting with higher frame caps, BGMI players in India may not have to wait much longer for the next FPS revolution.
