The first day of the T20 World Cup 2026 was an eventful one, where three matches took place. Pakistan took on Netherlands in Colombo, where the Asian giants sneaked out a narrow win, followed by the West Indies vs Scotland encounter, and finally the India vs USA clash in Mumbai.
The Indian side, after some batting hiccups, went on to eventually win by 30 runs and that just showed, why they are the no. 1 team in the world. Suryakumar Yadav scored 84, which turned out to be an innings of a lifetime. Apart from that there were a few solid performances with the ball as well, including the other two matces.
Insidesport takes a look at the leading run-scorer and the wicket-taker in T20 World Cup 2026.
