About Romario Shepherd
The 28-year-old Guyanese cricketer arrives with an impressive reputation as an exceptional all-rounder. Renowned for his ability to bowl effectively in any situation with a diverse array of skills, as well as his capability to finish innings with powerful hitting, he has quickly risen in prominence since his domestic debut for Guyana in the Regional Super50 competition in 2016. Subsequently, he secured a deal with the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL and earned a national call-up for the West Indies in 2018. His T20 stats speak volumes, boasting a batting strike-rate exceeding 150 and 109 wickets at an average of 23 across 99 matches. Mumbai Indians will mark his third IPL franchise after stints with Sunrisers Hyderabad (2022) and Lucknow Super Giants (2023). Career
Domestic career
A right-arm fast bowler, Shepherd made his List A debut for Guyana in January 2016 against the Leeward Islands in the 2015–16 Regional Super50. He impressed with figures of 3/37 from 10 overs and was named man of the match. His first-class debut came in the 2016–17 Regional Four Day Competition on 10 March 2017. Shepherd made his Twenty20 debut for Guyana Amazon Warriors on 5 September 2018. In July 2020, he was named in the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League. He was later signed by the Karachi Kings for the 2022 Pakistan Super League in December 2021. In February 2022, he was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament.
