Featuring 1024 Teams, BGIS 2026 Round 1 Starts Today With PlayShield Anti-Cheat App to Stop Cheaters during matches.

Today marks the commencement of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2026 Round 1, as thousands of aspiring underdog squads and seasoned veterans converge for the first major open-to-all tournament of the year. With a staggering ₹4 Crore prize pool on the line, the intensity is at an all-time high. Check out the BGIS 2026 Round 1 starts today with PlayShield Anti-Cheat App below.

However, the headline this year isn’t just the massive scale—it’s the unprecedented security. To ensure a level playing field for every participant, Krafton has officially mandated the use of the PlayShield Anti-Cheat App for all competing players.

BGIS 2026 Round 1 Kicks Off With PlayShield Anti-Cheat App

The introduction of PlayShield marks a pivotal shift in Krafton’s esports ecosystem. Unlike standard server-side anti-cheat measures, PlayShield is a dedicated application designed to monitor device integrity in real-time.

  • Mandatory Requirements: All players must have the app running in the background during their official matches.
  • Zero Tolerance: Failure to use the app or any attempts to bypass its security features will result in immediate disqualification and potential long-term bans from Krafton-organized events.
  • Player Integrity: The app is designed to detect third-party plugins, scripts, and hardware manipulations that give players an unfair advantage, addressing the community’s long-standing concerns regarding competitive integrity.

BGIS 2026 Round 1: The First Great Filter

Round 1 is the ultimate proving ground. Following the completion of the In-Game Qualifiers and “The Grind,” a total of 1,024 teams have moved into this phase. These teams are divided into 64 groups, with each group consisting of 16 squads.

The format is unforgiving:

  • Teams will play 6 matches each.
  • The top 7 teams from each group, along with the top 48 teams from the overall leaderboard (cumulative), will secure their spots in Round 2.
  • This stage is critical for the “bottom 8” teams from Group D of The Grind, who must now fight their way back into the main event through this open-bracket gauntlet.

How to Watch

The action is being broadcast live on the Krafton India Esports YouTube channel and on various streaming platforms. Fans can tune in to witness high-octane gameplay, strategic masterclasses, and the rise of the next generation of Indian esports stars.

As the first circle closes on Round 1, one thing is certain: with PlayShield in play, only true skill will prevail.
