The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the England cricket team’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 and white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. With a little over a week left before the ICC’s deadline ends, the Three Lions have announced their provisional squad.
Jofra Archer’s inclusion remains the biggest positive for England. The speedster had injured himself during the third Ashes Test in Adelaide and had to return home. Archer will miss the 3-match T20I and ODI series in Sri Lanka, with Brydon Carse covering for him. However, he is expected to be fit by the time the T20 World Cup commences for England on February 8 against Nepal.

The ECB has picked virtually the same team for the ODI series as well. The objective could be getting the players acclimatised to the conditions. Joe Root has been picked, while Zak Crawley has returned to England’s ODI team for the first time since December 2023.
