Rising Star of Indian Esports: Meet Ashmit “Sergeant Clash” Singh
Q1. Congratulations on securing the Last Chance Qualifier spot for the Brawl Stars World Championship 2025! How does it feel to represent India and Team Revenant XSpark on the global stage?
It feels incredible to be back at the World Finals this year. It was a challenging 2024 for us, as things didn’t go as planned due to issues with the Hong Kong servers. So, this year’s win is fulfilling for me and I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to represent India. This comes with a lot of responsibility as I am the only Indian player to qualify for the World Finals this year. I thank Revenant Sports for being with me since 2023. They have been a big support even after the drastic sub-region changes
Q2. Group A features some of the toughest teams globally. How are you preparing mentally and strategically for the challenges ahead from Nov 27 to 29?
Every group is challenging and Group A is no different. There is no doubt that Group A is definitely packed with some some of the best teams that boasts the best in the industry. We had faced STMN (now SSG) back in 2023 and suffered a tough loss. This year we are pitted against them again and it will be a tough battle. While revenge would be on our mind, we cannot let emotions take control of us. It is also a great chance to prove how we have improved ever since the 2023 loss.
We also have SK Gaming in the group. We lost to them during the Brawl Cup. But that time we didn’t have our full roster. However, this time we are going in with our complete lineup. This has given us a lot of confidence. Over the past few days, we have invested considerable time in studying the opponents, their drafts, playstyles, and overall approach. Mentally, we’re in a great place. Having our full roster together again has boosted our confidence, and we feel stronger than ever with the level of performance we’re currently showing.

Q3. How do you think Indian esports is evolving, particularly in games like Brawl Stars, and how does it feel to be a face of this growth?
Ans. I feel these are exciting times for India’s esports industry. Indian esports is finally heading in a positive direction. It feels amazing to be a part of that growth journey and also grow as a player. When we compare India’s esports vis-a-vis the global stage, Brawl Stars doesn’t yet have the same scale as larger esports titles in India. But we’re slowly building a strong foundation. Being one of the top players in India is an honour that comes with an additional responsibility. It always feels great being able to represent India at the global stage.
Q4. How do you stay adaptable to meta shifts and new strategies at such a high level of competitive play?
Our team benefits a lot from constantly studying other regions and their evolving metas. We have spent a considerable time watching international tournaments, learning from the best teams, and analyzing them. That helps us stay up to date and also learn stuff we didn’t know. One of our biggest strengths is our unorthodox approach and we would continue with it. We are not afraid to take risks or bring out unexpected drafts. This strategy helps us catch teams off guard and makes us unpredictable.
Q5. Do you have any aspirations to expand your role in the esports community, maybe as a content creator or influencer?
Ans. Balancing esports and content creation isn’t easy, especially since my primary focus is performing internationally. But yes, I do plan to start YouTube content soon, once I have established myself further at the top level of competitive play and have hit certain milestones internationally.
Q6. What advice would you give to young aspiring Indian gamers who look up to you and want to make it to the professional esports scene?
The best way to improve at esports is by learning from watching and observing players, who are better than you. Simply by watching them or if possible by interacting with them you can learn the little nuances that will improve your style. I have always believed that having a learning mindset and working hard consistently is the main factor which helps esports players reach the top.
