WWE WrestleMania rumours: Will Rey Mysterio retire after WrestleMania 39?

Rey Mysterio told Fox 5 DC.“I’ve always had this number in mind, and it just kept getting higher and higher every single time just because of how great my body has been feeling and overall, how since my schedule slimmed down, I feel like this energetic person that loves to go in there and perform on a once-a-week basis. It brings out a different type of energy, But I had 5-0; 50 was the number that I said I was.”

He added, “I cannot and don’t think I will go past it. But being inducted and given the prestigious honor of being part of the Hall of Fame is like the ultimate in your career. You always think that, hoping that one day when you retire, that offer will be presented to you, but here it is, you know? I’m at the peak of my career maybe because I still feel great, I feel like I can compete on the level of other superstars, but overall, it’s just a dream come true.”

WWE WrestleMania: Checkout the complete details about the father-son rivalry

This Saturday, Rey and his son Dominik Mysterio will face off at WWE’s WrestleMania 39 inside SoFi Stadium in Inglewood (Los Angeles), California. After Dominik turned on his father at the Clash at the Castle pay-per-view in September and joined The Judgement Day faction, the former WWE Champion and legendary figure in lucha libre has been attempting to avoid a showdown with the boy. He even went so far as to switch from the Raw to the SmackDown roster, but Dom never stopped pursuing him and always tried to provoke a fight. Rey didn’t finally lose it until Dom started making fun of him, at which point he struck the boy and accepted Dom’s challenge for a WrestleMania match.
