It seems that Twitter has been awarding Blue Check verification badges to accounts with a minimum of one million followers, even if the account owners have not registered for the subscription service. Furthermore, some of these account owners are deceased, resulting in perplexity and indignation from their followers.
During the weekend, numerous Twitter users with supposedly more than one million followers were taken aback to discover that their Blue Check verification badges, which had vanished after Elon Musk’s recent removal of legacy verified accounts, had been restored. Nevertheless, many of these users were dissatisfied with the abrupt alteration since they do not endorse Twitter Blue, the subscription service that provides extra functionalities to users for a monthly charge
