Previously, Santos Escobar defeated Grayson Waller, AJ Styles, and Butch to qualify for the finals of the United States Championship Invitational Tournament. Also, Rey Mysterio faced and defeated LA Knight, Sheamus, and Cameron Grimes to reach the finals of the tournament. With that, on WWE SmackDown this week, Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar will face each other in the United States Championship Invitational Finals. The winner of the match will get a title shot.
On the other hand, last week Karrion Kross attacked Karl Anderson backstage. Now, on Friday Night SmackDown this week Karl Anderson will go one-on-one against Karrion Kross.
