GUNTHER and Strowman left nothing on the table as they engaged in a brutal battle.With commentary and both combatants putting over Braun’s injured shoulder throughout the match, he still waged impressive offense.With the crowd squarely behind Strowman, GUNTHER continued to target the injured shoulder as well as delivering powerful chops. In the end though, the IC champ retained his title via pinfall.

WWE has done a great job of slowly sewing the bond between Zayn and The Bloodline and just as carefully pulling at its seams. Reigns appeared to have set Zayn up for failure. Owens has proved to be a formidable foe and Zayn was expected to overcome an opponent that even Reigns is struggling with. It turned out Zayn was up to the task. The Usos and Solo Sikoa, well-intentioned or not, robbed Zayn of that moment. Following last week’s tension with Reigns, it appears WWE is ready to separate the two sides in what hopefully culminates with Reigns vs. Zayn in the latter’s hometown of Montreal, Quebec at Elimination Chamber.

Kross also took shots at Rey’s fractured relationship with his son Dominik.Rey went after Kross and set up for the 619 attempt against the ropes, but Karrion’s wife Scarlett tripped Rey. That led to Kross choking out Rey with a Kross Jacket submission. It was later announced that Rey will face Kross on Smackdown in two weeks on January 27th.

Raquel Rodriguez said that she thinks someone of Morgan’s size has a better chance of succeeding if they enter later. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion then revealed that she got her palm read today. She went on to show it to Raquel but slapped her.

Adam Pearce announced during tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown that a tag team tournament would begin next week, with the winners getting a shot at the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.Backstage during tonight’s episode, Pearce was met by the Banger Bros.’ Drew McIntyre, who demanded they get a shot against the Viking Raiders. Afterward, Sheamus then demanded a shot against the Usos as well, causing an argument to pop up between the two tag teams.
