WWE Rumors: Controversial Finish proposed for Roman Reigns vs Jey Uso at SummerSlam 2023
Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray spoke on Busted Open Radio. During the conversation, Ray proposed controversial ‘Dusty Finish’ for Roman Reigns’ SummerSlam 2023 Match against Jey Uso.
Ray said “If there was ever a time for a ‘Dusty finish’ in the WWE, it would be at SummerSlam. Imagine a ‘Dusty finish’ at SummerSlam in which we are meant … to know that Jey Uso just won the match. … Oh my God. And WWE is not big on the Dusty finish at all, but — if this wasn’t just the right place for it.“
He continued “Do I think at the end of the day that Jey Uso is going to become the next WWE Universal Champion? No. Do I think the story that they are telling would lead me to believe that it could happen? Absolutely. And let me tell you something, if we get Jey Uso vs. Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, the story that has been told so far, and the believability that Jey has already pinned Roman — I guarantee you that those will be some of the most believable false finishes that you have seen in your life.”
Roman Reigns vs Jey Uso Build Up
Previously, at WWE Money in the Bank, Jey and Jimmy Uso defeated Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa with Jey Uso pinning Roman Reigns for the win. It is to be noted that, this was the first time in three years Reigns has been pinned.
This resulted in a trial of Roman Reigns, that was booked for Friday Night SmackDown last week. However, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa wreaked havoc during the segment, which resulted in Jimmy Uso been rushed to a medical facility. Following that, Jey Uso challenged Roman Reigns to a trial by combat.
