On the contrary that is not the exact scenario. There are a number of rules that all the wrestlers have to follow. Check out what they are.
WWE or World Wrestling Entertainment, is an American professional wrestling promotion. It is a global entertainment company which has its branches spread out in several other places such as business ventures, American football and film. The company was founded in 1953, and till date is the largest wrestling promotion around the globe. WWE shows are solely entertainment based, featuring scripted, storyline-driven and slightly choreographed matches, but that does not necessarily means that there exist no rules for the wrestlers. Several rules have been laid down for the wrestlers some of which are enforced and some are not.
What Are The Rules?
- Throwing opponent over the rope is not allowed.
- It is compulsory for female Wrestlers to attend all the shows.
- Low blows are a no no.
- Blading is strictly prohibited.
- Any third party interference is forbidden.
- There’s an alleged dress code for female superstars during events.
- Only pre-approved props are allowed.
- Being a family friendly entertainment show, cursing on the show is not at all allowed.
- Wrestlers should not use their real names.
- No stealing of signature moves.
- No more wrestling is allowed after an injury.
- Chokeholds are strictly prohibited.
- Wrestlers should not touch Vince McMahon without permission.
- Political posts by the wrestlers are a no go.
- The usage of illegal moves such as, scratching, biting, attacking the eye directly or striking the opponent using weapons are restricted. However, throwing your opponent onto weapons or throwing weapons onto them is sometimes allowed.
- Climbing on the turnbuckles for more than a specified period of time is not allowed.
Apart from these rules, there are several other matches with several others rules implemented for each of them. As in case of Extreme Rules, the only rule is that, there are no rules.
