This week saw the start of the “SmackDown” World Cup Tournament, which will decide GUNTHER’s next opponent for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Santos Escobar of Legado del Fantasma and Shinsuke Nakamura squared off. Later, Braun Strowman met Jinder Mahal. 
The action continues the next week as Ricochet competes against Mustafa Ali in another first-round battle. But does this imply that Ali, a player on the “Raw” roster, will be settling down on the blue brand permanently?
Although practically all the “SmackDown” wrestlers are in the tournament bracket, some sources revealed that Ali has not permanently switched to the brand and is still scheduled to appear on “Raw”. It appears that the United States Title plot will continue to develop in connection with Ali’s involvement in the “SmackDown” World Cup.
There was still no explanation offered as to why Ali was brought in as opposed to employing another member of the talented “SmackDown” roster.
So, will this just be a one-time appearance for Ali or is he going to switch sides? Only time will tell…

WWE News: SmackDown World Championship: Mustafa Ali vs Ricochet.
On the next week of Friday Night SmackDown, we are going to witness Ali going head-to-head against Ricochet.
Ali and Ricochet will want to give it their best since they have a chance to advance in the competition and go closer to taking on Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. Recently, Ricochet was defeated by the powerful Gunther, and Ali now wants to show that he is a champion.
Both Ali and Ricochet have great aerial abilities and prefer high-flier roles but, this upcoming match will demand more than just agility. It will demand brute strength.
For Ricochet, it might be a tad easier due to his muscular build. He can be a powerhouse when asked for. Ali, on the other hand has always been a tough opponent to face off against but, he lacks in dominating his opponents as well as Ricochet. If everything goes as speculated, Ricochet will most definitely advance onto the next round but, you can never know for sure.
