As a part of the storyline, the WWE Universe has alos witnessed Dominik hit his father multiple times.

Recently speaking on the Busted Open, WWE Legend Bubba Ray Dudley opined that WWE would do well to go for a name change for Dominik. He also stated that Dominik feeling sick of the surname Mysterio is a huge disrespect to the Lucha family. Here is what the former WWE Tag Team Champion said:
“After hearing Dom talk last night, I’m saying to myself, wouldn’t it be monster heat for Dominik to renounce, drop, get rid of the Mysterio last name? WWE News: Bubba Ray Dudley loves Dominik’s relationship with Rhea Ripley
WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley has had a huge influence on Dominik turning heel against his father and joining Judgment Day. It looks like Rhea is pulling the strings and controlling every bit of what Dominik is doing on the red brand.
On the same podcast, Bubba Ray Dudley explained that Dominik taking up the Guerrero last name could be a major boost to the storyline.
“I love the relationship with Rhea (Ripley). I love Rhea constantly being in his ear. Taking shots at Eddie Guerrero will always get you heat, saying that Eddie Guerrero was the Dominik Mysterio of his generation. Getting back to the name thing, I know they did the angle years ago with Eddie possibly being Dom’s dad, what about Dominik taking the Guerrero last name over the Mysterio last name?” (Quotes via Sportskeeda)

It is to be noted that Eddie Guererro was Rey Mysterio’s best friend despite their rivalry back in time. It remains to be seen how WWE books Rey and his son despite the two now plying their trade on different brands.
