United States Champion Austin Theory has been hot on the heels of Cena since last year. He targeted the 16-time champion in his promos and even confronted him backstage during the 20th-anniversary celebration. Despite their interesting antics, Logan Paul vs John Cena was a more interesting prospect. Both superstars are renowned for their resilience and would have put on a cracker for the ages.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Austin Theory seemingly replaced Logan Paul as John Cena’s opponent due to The YouTuber’s inexperience in wrestling. Paul has only fought three matches inside the ring, albeit in the Big 4 events of WWE. So, Cena has a hectic Hollywood schedule to cope with and making time to train with Logan was impossible.
“The worry about Logan Paul is, the feeling is you need lots and lots and lots of practice and John Cena doesn’t have the time to do that practice,” said Dave Meltzer.

Logan Paul headlined the Crown Jewel last year alongside Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. His ‘one lucky punch’ wasn’t enough to beat The Head of the Table, unfortunately. After recovering from a pectoral injury, he returned at the Royal Rumble and eliminated Seth Rollins, thereby starting a feud.
The Visionary is expected to fight Logan at the Show of Shows after the latter cost Rollins a win in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match. Their rivalry is developing slowly in the red brand.
