India’s Ravinder has entered the final of the UWW U23 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest on the day2 of the championships. The 22-year-old Ravinder stunned reigning European wrestling champion Arsen HARUTYUNYAN of Armenia in the Semi-finals.
The Armenian had started as favourite in the semi-final bout. Justifying hit top billing, Arsen took a 3-0 lead by end of the round 1. In round 2, Sonepat, Haryana, boy Ravinder showed great fighting spirit to score the succour move to which the Arsen had no reply. Ravinder finally won the bout by fall and became the first wrestler from India in this edition of the U23 World championship to enter the finals.
