U-20 Wrestling World Championships: India at Wrestling Worlds: India’s Women’s Wrestling team clinched the runner-up trophy as the nation finished second by winning a total of 7 medals. Antim Panghal became the first-ever Indian woman wrestler to win the U-20 World Championship title as she won the gold medal in the Women’s 53kg category by defeating Altyn Shagayeva 8-0 on Friday. U-20 Wrestling World Championships: Antim Panghal creates history, becomes first Indian female wrestler to win gold at U20 Wrestling Championships

With all the top nations competing in the mega event, there is going to be huge battle for top honours in all the prize categories. Around more than 600 wrestlers are going to feature in Sofia for the meet.

The selection for the Indian team took place mid July, meaning that the wrestler shave got around a month to compete for their respective events. Some of the top gold medal contenders for India are Sujeet in the 65 kg category. He is unbeaten in three international tournaments.

India will also be expecting a good show from Mulaym Yadav, Sagar Jaglan, Jinty Kumar and others. If they have a good day, many wrestlers are capable of finishing in the podium.
