Did Matt Cardona Call Out John Cena for a Retirement Match?
Recently, Wrestle Features posted an image on their social media handle with a question that reads “If you were to book John Cena’s final match… Who would you book him against?“
However, Matt Cardona noticed it and gave a simple response. The ex-WWE superstar said “Me”. Thus it can be understood that Matt Cardona wants to face John Cena in his retirement match, whenever that happens.
Not only that, when Wrestle Features raised another question, which reads “When John Cena is inevitably inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, who should induct him?“
Cardona had the same response, as he retweeted the post and wrote “Me”.
It is to be seen if Cardona indeed gets booked by WWE for John Cena’s final match. Meanwhile, know more about Cena and Cardona.
Cardona and Cena
Cardona currently performs for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and performs on the Independent Circuit. He was signed by WWE in 2005 and during his time in the company, he won the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, and WWE Raw Tag Team Championship. He was later released by WWE in April 2020.
Cena currently makes part-time appearances in WWE. He previously faced Austin Theory for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 39 in a losing effort. Also, he was recently seen at WWE Money in the Bank 2023 in a segment with Grayson Waller.
It is to be noted that Cardona and Cena were previously involved in a storyline within WWE. Now, the former has called out Cena for a retirement match. It is to be seen if anything lies ahead for Cardona and Cena in WWE.
