Ex-WWE Superstar Edge Might Retain His Nickname Despite Going to AEW

As was previously said, new rumours are circulating that Edge might make his AEW debut prior to the 2023 WrestleDream PPV.

Adam Copeland’s name, rather than his WWE alias, is the one that Edge is using to generate a lot of rumours. Fans in 2023 are intelligent enough to understand that WWE owns the trademarked term. Having said that, it’s possible that not all of Adam Copeland’s names are under the company’s lock.

Ringside News has learned from looking into certain trademark applications that while WWE does have “Edge” under lock and key, they do not currently have a trademark for Rated R Superstar.

WWE has given up on the Rated R Superstar trademark. They both have the same status and there are two of them. Fans will have to wait and watch whether they hear that moniker on AEW television.

Ex-WWE Superstar Edge Might Retain His Nickname

WWE had a lot of releases last week.  Soon, there will be some free agents for wrestling promoters across the nation to try and persuade to join their company.  However, AEW is without a doubt the largest name promotion and the one that the majority of those freed wrestlers will try to sign with.

Edge is the most well-known free agent in wrestling at the present.  Although his contract is up this month, he technically isn’t a free agent just yet.  On August 18, Edge faced Sheamus in the final match of his WWE contract.  He has been waiting out his contract ever since, and there have been rumours that Edge could not be retiring from wrestling altogether but only from WWE.

With this rumour, the subject of Edge’s possible future travels is raised.  The sensible option is AEW.

As was previously said, new rumours are circulating that Edge might make his AEW debut prior to the 2023 WrestleDream PPV. Bryan Danielson made a joke about Edge (actual name Adam Copeland) possibly joining AEW during an interview with NYPost.com.

“He has a great mind for wrestling. He has a great passion for wrestling and he has a lot to teach a lot of the younger generation. One of the things that I think about his generation and younger is they have a real desire to give back. I have a real desire to give back. He has a real desire to give back. Christian has a real desire to give back. Having people like that in your locker only benefits the entire company.”
