WWE Backlash 2023: Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar Preview
When they were set to join the main event against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, Rhodes and Lesnar’s feud started on Raw after WrestleMania 39. The American Nightmare was seeking retribution after losing to The Tribal Chief in the main event of WrestleMania 39 one night earlier due to interference by Sikoa in a bout for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
The Tribal Chief agreed to a tag team match while refusing Rhodes a rematch immediately. Then, Lesnar volunteered to be his partner, ostensibly because of his prior conflicts with Reigns and Paul Heyman. Before starting the tag team match, The Beast Incarnate surprised the WWE Universe by attacking Rhodes viciously. The American Nightmare could not exit the ringside area alone after Lesnar punched him through the announcer’s table and onto the steel steps with an F-5.
Meanwhile, on tonight’s Monday Night Raw, The Beast accepted Rhodes’ challenge to compete at WWE Backlash 2023 one week later on Raw after the American Nightmare called him out for beating him up. Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar may face off in the show’s main event because Reigns appears unlikely to defend the world championship at Backlash.
WWE Backlash: Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Matt Riddle vs The Bloodline confirmed
According to a WWE announcement, the Undisputed Tag Team Champions and Matt Riddle will square off against The Bloodline in another major match at Backlash next month in Puerto Rico. WWE revealed a gigantic six-man tag team match for the pricey live event next month before tonight’s episode of RAW in Little Rock, Arkansas.

At Backlash next month in Puerto Rico, The Usos and The Enforcer of The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa, will square off against Matt Riddle and the Undisputed Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
