During the second week of April, wrestling journalist Sean Ross Sapp released two reports concerning CM Punk’s rumored return to AEW programming. According to Sapp, Punk expressed his willingness to work alongside or independently from Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks following their highly publicized “Brawl Out” incident in September of last year.

In one of his reports, Sapp suggested that the upcoming Saturday show could be used to keep Punk and The Elite separate from one another. It is unclear whether this would be a long-term or temporary strategy. Nonetheless, Sapp’s reports have generated much excitement and anticipation among fans eager to see how Punk’s potential return to AEW programming might unfold.

Warner Bros Discovery was reportedly discussing developing a Saturday night prime-time show that would cater to the preferences of particular talent who preferred to stay away from specific situations. The show was expected to feature a soft roster split. Recently, there was speculation that an announcement regarding the new show was imminent.

According to Sapp, sources within the company had confirmed that there had been discussions about the possibility of a new show, but there was no indication of CM Punk’s return. The talent had reportedly been informed of the development, but Punk’s name had not been discussed.
