Tony Khan isn’t recognised for being a good leader, but the AEW President is certain to use his dwindling power at some point. According to rumours, CM Punk and Jack Perry could be suspended as a result of their brawl at AEW All In 2023’s backstage.

The two allegedly got into a violent altercation during yesterday’s pay-per-view backstage. If accurate, the two might not attend this Sunday’s AEW All Out, the company’s upcoming pay-per-view.

The specifics of what transpired between Perry and Punk backstage are still unknown, despite the generalities appearing to be in agreement. In the PPV pre-show, Perry alluded to a past argument he had with Punk and told the camera that the stunt he was about to perform contained actual glass. This is in reference to Punk and other AEW members who may have objected to Perry’s insistence on using actual glass during a pre-recorded segment earlier this summer, which led to an initial altercation before yesterday.

CM Punk Suspended: Fans React to AEW All In London Investigation- ‘Hate’

According to Wrestle Ops tweet on X, “ The belief within AEW is that CM Punk and Jack Perry are both suspended pending the results of an investigation. As a result, neither will work the All Out PPV this weekend. – Bryan Alvarez”

The argument between Punk and Perry yesterday has been seen from many different angles, but it appears that both parties agree that Punk started the dialogue as Perry walked by him, and things quickly got hot. Some claim that Punk put Perry in a chokehold after some pushing and shoving in an effort to diffuse the situation.

Also, the tweet received numerous reactions from MMA fans one of which read, “I truly hate this is overshadowing ALL IN … I hate to say it but CM is ruining AEW.”

Before Friday night’s media scrum following the PPV, AEW co-owner Tony Khan made a quick comment on the altercation and acknowledged that there had been an incident and that it was being looked into. There hasn’t been any additional official commentary. Although it appears that Punk and Perry might skip this weekend’s event, nothing is guaranteed at this point.
