Amidst a transformative period with mass releases, WWE's acquisition of AEW's Jade Cargill stirs the wrestling world. Read the details behind this significant move shaping the future of professional wrestling.

WWE is currently experiencing significant shifts, breaking new ground with unexpected developments. First, the company merged with UFC under TKO’s umbrella. Shortly after, they made a drastic move, releasing over 20 superstars and 100 employees, marking a clear transitional phase. Adding to the whirlwind of change, WWE recently made a splash by signing Jade Cargill from AEW, shaking up the world of professional wrestling. Let’s delve deeper into the details of this big signing.

WWE Bolsters Roster by Signing AEW Standout and Former Champion Amid Mass Releases

WWE’s recent press release confirms the addition of Cargill, an acclaimed standout in the industry, set to commence training immediately at the WWE Performance Center located in Orlando. As per first reported by ESPN, Cargill has officially inked a multi-year deal with WWE. Extending a warm welcome to the new signee, Triple H expressed that this formidable athlete is a game-changer and is poised to revolutionize the company.

Cargill, AEW’s reigning TBS champion since 500+ days and a familiar face on their TV shows, has not been seen on AEW broadcasts for a span of two weeks. And the speculation about the signing WWE contract turned ture.

According to ESPN, although Cargill has secured a multi-year deal, her immediate placement in either WWE’s main roster or its developmental brand, NXT, remains uncertain. However, judging by her remarkable wrestling skills and championship status, it seems probable she’ll head to the main roster.

She’s no stranger to performing alongside WWE stars, having previously teamed up with NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal, who occasionally appears in WWE matches, facing Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet. Interestingly, Rhodes, a mentor to Cargill at the Nightmare Factory in Georgia, made the move to the biggest pro wrestling promotion last year, potentially influencing her decision to sign with the company.
