Seems like WWE is heading towards having Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble PPV event. Tonight on the show, Adam Pearce was given the authority to find someone to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

He was skeptical in finding an apt opponent for the Tribal Chief, but at the flag end of the night, Seth Rollins from Monday Night Raw made his way to Roman Reigns’ locker room and got face-to-face with the champ. The night closed off with Seth laughing at Roman’s face, and it seems like the Visionary is going to be the one to challenge the champ for the title at Royal Rumble.

Smackdown tag-team Champions The Usos defended their titles against The New Day in a Street Fight in the main event of the show. The Usos successfully retained the titles in one of the lamest Street Fights in the recent memories of the show.

The crowd was not at all involved in the match, and it turned out to be a pale effort from both teams. However, with The Usos’ win, New Day has seemingly drained a title opportunity against the Usos for now.

Jackass star Johnny Knoxville appeared on tonight’s show. He was on Smackdown to have a word with the management seeking a chance to compete in the men’s Royal Rumble match.

He had a backstage altercation with Sami Zayn before he sent out the former Intercontinental Champion over the top rope after Zayn lost to Rick Boogs in a one-on-one match. Knoxville’s actions led the WWE administration to allow him to compete in the men’s Royal Rumble match at the namesake vent on Sunday, January 29, 2022.
