WWE Smackdown – Smackdown Results and Highlights:

After the match got over, we head into Roman Reigns’ locker room and it was an unexpected guest knocking at his door. He was none other than Seth Rollins who just got into Roman’s locker room and the two men came face-to-face. The show closed with Rollins laughing.

Smackdown Tag-team Championship- Ths Usos vs. The New Day (Street Fight): Sir Kofi and Jimmy Uso started the proceedings and soon the former tagged his partner King Woods, but not before nailing a running kick on Jimmy’s face. Woods then held Jimmy and lifted him up on his shoulder. He tagged Kofi who was about to fly, but Jey came to the rescue and pulled his brother Jimmy down from Woods’ grasps. The Usos moved outside the ring, but Kofi nailed a dive from the top turnbuckle on the outside. We now head into commercials.

After the commercials, we saw the two teams wrestling on the entrance stage. The New Day was in command, whereas, The Usos were feeling the pain. The Usos were taken back into the ring and then we saw the momentum shifting. The Usos were back in command again and making the New Day pay.

They first taped the left hand of King Woods on the top rope with Duct Tape and were looking to assault him. However, Kofi came to the rescue and started taking out both The Usos one by one. After taking out the Usos, he helped King Woods to get rid of the tape, and soon we saw The Usos going outside the ring as both Kofi & King Woods ducking down the top-rope.

On the outside, we saw The Usos using the steel stairs to their advantage. They first sent Kofi head-first into the ring post and sent Woods into the crowd. They then grabbed the steel stair and hit him on Kofi’s skull. They did the same in the crowd area hitting Woods with the steel stairs on his skull. The Usos now came near the announce table but King Woods dived from the barricade onto the Usos. Now we go into commercials.

After the commercial, both teams were seen inside the ring and battle it out with their maneuvers. We saw King Woods and Sir Kofi taking out a Knight gear from underneath the ring and using it to a great effect against The Usos. The match was now reaching its exclamation point and the crowd was now willing to see tables in action.

Woods pulled out a table from underneath the ring, but couldn’t use it to a great effect against the Usos. In the closing moments, we saw The Usos setting up the table in the middle of the ring and ending Kofi Kingston with a 1D to retain their titles.

WWE Smackdown Results: The Usos defeated The New Day via Pinfall

Backstage: Adam Pearce goes to Roman Reigns’ locker room to tell him that he has been assigned to choose Roman’s opponent for Royal Rumble. Roman tells him to make his decision and asks him to leave as he wants to watch his cousin’s match.

Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss vs. The Viking Raiders: The match started after a commercial and it was Erik and Madcap already in action. Ivar took a tag from Erik and soon we saw Ivar working on Moss.

Ivar was all over Moss before the latter somehow tagged in his partner Corbin. The match didn’t last for long as the two teams were going with their offense swiftly and looked in a hurry to close off the proceedings. In the closing moments of the match, Erik was the one on the receiving end as Moss hit his finisher on him to secure a win.

WWE Smackdown Results- Madcap Moss & Happy Corbin won via Pinfall

Happy Talk with Happy Corbin: Happy Corbin was all alone in the ring and told the WWE Universe that his buddy Madcap Moss is out with COVID-19. He then rolls footage of what he and his buddy Moss did to Drew McIntyre at WWE Day 1 due to which he is out of action with a neck injury.

However, Corbin told the WWE Universe that despite getting injured at WWE Day 1 PPV, Drew McIntyre is here and called him to the ring. Drew’s music hit and out came Madcap Moss wearing somewhat the same attire Drew wears along with a neck brace. He had a little sword in one hand and a walking stick in the other.

Moss was in the ring and Corbin asked the mocked Drew some questions. Corbin and Moss made fun of Drew McIntyre and before the segment became lame, the Viking raiders interrupted it as they were scheduled ti face both Moss and Corbin in a tag-team match.

Backstage: Adam Pearce tells Sonya Deville that WWE management has asked him to choose an opponent for Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble PPV event, and the decision has to be made at the end of the night.

Charlotte vs Naomi: The match started after the commercials. We saw Charlotte standing tall near the announce table while Naomi was on the floor reeling in pain. The action then shifted in the ring and the two ladies exchanged blows in the ring.

Charlotte was on the money. She wrapped her thighs around Naomi’s neck and started slamming her head into the mat. After a while, we saw Charlotte taking Naomi outside the ring and sending her into the time keeper’s area.

When she pulled Naomi out of the time keeper’s area, the latter rocked the champion with a kick on the face and hit a blockbuster from the barricade. She then went into the ring to take a count-out victory, but Sonya Deville came out and announced that this match will not end in a count-out. Therefore, the match continued and Charlotte bashed into Naomi from behind as we head into commercials.

After the commercial, we saw the two ladies competing in the ring with Naomi stunning the champion with lateral press and some kicks on the face. After a while, we saw Charlotte putting a Figure 8 perfectly on Naomi, but the latter somehow dragged herself to grab the bottom rope and break the hold. Deville, who was present at the ringside, then announced that this match is a no DQ.

The two ladies continued their fight inside the ring, and yet again we saw Naomi stunning the champ this time with a Full Nelsen. Naomi went for a cover, but the champ kicked out at 2-count. After some back & forth pinfall attempts by both the competitors, we finally saw Charlotte hitting a situp slam and ending Naomi’s resilience with a Natural Selection.

WWE Smackdown Results- Charlotte Flair won the match via Pinfall

Charlotte Flair in the ring: The Smackdown Women’s Champions talks about the Royal Rumble PPV and who could challenge her for the title after winning the 30-woman Royal Rumble match. She introduces 18 of the 30 women who would be competing in the women’s Royal Rumble match.

The big screen displayed the competitors including some WWE legends and current superstars. After this, Charlotte said that she would also enter the Royal Rumble match and win it and then challenge the challenger of her choosing to main event Wrestlemania 38. As Charlotte was speaking, she was cut short by Naomi.

Naomi walked into the ring and told her that she would be happy to face her tonight for the title, and they shouldn’t need to wait for Wrestlemania 38. Charlotte denied the challenge by saying that Naomi has not done anything worth getting a shot at the women’s title. Naomi was pissed and slapped Charlotte on the face before sending her outside the ring through the middle and top rope. A non-title match is announced between the two ladies right now.

Sami Zayn vs. Rick Boogs: Sami tried playing smart as he was going into the corner whenever Boogs approached him. However, after a while, Boogs caught him with an overhead slam and then hoisted him up for a weightlifting body press before slamming him down on the mat. Sami was stunned and rolled out of the ring. We now head into commercials.

After the commercial, the two men were in the ring and Boogs had Sami gripped from his waits and swinging him like a douchebag. Sami then had an opportunity to display his offense and was on the money, but only for a while. Boogs then hoisted him up for a vertical suplex and got it in place. Boogs was displaying unbelievable strength and stunned Sami Zayn who opted to take the crowd route and escape.

However, Boogs caught him from behind and sent him rolling inside the ring. He also went inside but Sami caught him with his offense. Sami then went outside to trash talk with Shinsuke Nakamura, however, when he returned to the ring, Boogs caught him in a roll-up pin and got the win.

WWE Smackdown Results- Rick Boogs defeated Sami Zayn via Pinfall

After the match got over, Johnny Knoxville came rushing down the ring and sent Sami Zayn outside the ring from over the rope, stating a claim to enter the men’s Royal Rumble match. Knoxville was elated with his effort, while Sami was stunned. While Knoxville was heading backstage, the announcer announced that WWE has agreed to give Johnny Knoxville a spot in the men’s Royal Rumble match.

Backstage: Jackass star Johnny Knoxville shows up on Friday Night Smackdown and he and Sami Zayn have a segment. Knoxville tells Zayn that he is here to talk to the management to get an entry in the 30-man Royal Rumble match on January 29. Sami told Knoxville as a locker room leader that he hasn’t got the skills to compete in the ring and walked off for his match.

Roman Reigns in the ring: Like always, Roman Reigns started off by asking the WWE Univers to Acknowledge him.

He then says that during his COVID-19 isolation, he had a lot of thinking to do and he came up with a decision that he doesn’t want to see two people for the rest of his life. These two people are Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. Just when he was about to say something else, Lesnar’s music hit, and out came the Beast with his advocate Paul Heyman.

Lesnar started off by introducing himself in the manner Paul Heyman does. After the introduction, Brock mocked Roman by asking him to ‘Acknowledge’ him. Brock further added that he has got what he wanted (WWE Championship) and Roman already have what he wanted, now they should give the people what they want, i.e., a Champion vs Champion match.

Listening to this, the crowd broke out of their seats, but Roman denied Lesnar’s challenge by saying that he doesn’t do business with people who work with Paul Heyman. This made Paul Heyman heartbroken and he started off saying that he always cared for his Tribal Chief and his he could talk to him like that. All this stuff and Lesnar was losing his patience on Heyman. He asked Heyman what is he saying and told him to shut up. As Lesnar’s focus was on Heyman, Roman Reigns used the situation to a great effect and hit a cheap shot (a Superman Punch from behind) on Lensar before walking out of the ring.
