On the recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, five superstars competed for the Intercontinental Title shot at WrestleMania 39. Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Karrion Kross, LA Knight, and Xavier Woods competed in a fatal-5-way match to determine the worthy opponent for Gunther.

The match started with Karrion Kross and LA Knight forming a temporary alliance to take down Sheamus and McIntyre. On the other hand, the temporary alliance dominated Xavier Woods in the match. Kross and Knight went on to overpower the other 3 men in the ring until they turned on each other.

Although LA Knight and Karrion Kross tried to steal the victory, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre rose against them. The match took uneven turns when Sheamus took control of the match, beating Kross, Woods, and Knight with the 10 beats of Bodhran. Later, the Celtic Warrior squared off in the ring with The Scottish Warrior.

The match concluded in an epic two-man victory as Sheamus and Drew McIntyre both pinned two different men in the ring to win the match. In the final moments of the match, Sheamus knocked out Xavier Woods while McIntyre knocked out LA Knight to win the match. However, the match ended up in a controversial victory for both men while the fans chanted triple-threat.
