WWE released its 2K series latest edition a month prior to WrestleMania 38. However, WWE was reportedly in talks with Take-Two Interactive to introduce Cody Rhodes as a whole new DLC character in 2K22. Although the news of Cody Rhodes was confirmed a month prior, WWE 2K didn’t bring that to light.
According to Sports Gamers Online, WWE had the confirmation of the return of Cody Rhodes back to WWE. Plans were pitched to bring the American Nightmare into the DLC package after WrestleMania 38. However, WWE scrapped the plans quickly, as they lacked time to introduce it and went with the game as planned earlier.
Recently, Wrestling Podcaster James Stewart hinted at an update on WWE 2K’s next game. He slightly indicated Cody Rhodes being rumored for the cover of WWE 2K23. On the contrary, there are talks related to WWE signing a new deal with Electronic Art (EA) over the rights of the WWE games division.

Recently, Wrestling Podcaster James Stewart took to Twitter, mentioning Cody Rhodes for the upcoming WWE 2K23 cover. Surprisingly, the American Nightmare gave a brief note on his expectations tagging WWE Games.
